Today was another day of pavement back to Tim’s house. We ate some breakfast of granola-type bars so we could get on the road as soon as possible, which was a smidge before 8am. We stopped in Kettle Falls for gas at 9:30am then continued on down the highway, arriving at Tim's house at 5 minutes to Noon. We took some more pictures, unloaded the luggage from the bikes, hooked up the trailer, loaded them up, had a couple small sandwiches at Tim’s, then Dave and I drove on into Spokane.
Epilogue
For me, this ranks up there with my Colorado Bluegrass Festival trip as one of the best I’ve ever taken. It was hard in the middle of the state, south of Ellensburg and we took a beating. But we overcame the obstacles and though the smoke obscured the view, rode through some pretty country and had a great time camping together. My total mileage when we were done was 900 miles exactly. It’s true that the last 190 miles was all pavement and sort of doesn’t count, plus we did a bunch of pavement in the Ellensburg to Cashmere section, but it was still all dirtbike miles. We were all on 250s and I wouldn’t do it on anything heavier. My Mosko Moto Reckless bags were the bomb for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to carry all my stuff.
Tim: This trip was a great adventure for me! I learned a few more things about riding and had a great time with Tom and Dave. I’m looking forward to another adventure trip in the near future. I want to find my own adventure bike and better "luggage". I do think we need to factor in our advanced ages and give ourselves several more days to accomplish our goals! Nah we can do it!
