Finally at about 5:10pm, we reached the Candian Border crossing. We had finished the route, but our adventure wasn’t over. The Sherpa had gotten hot enough that the starter wasn’t disengaging. So after a little discussion we disconnected the started and push-started the bike. The started wasn’t engaging any more, so we all rode into Oroville where we stopped for gas and then rode down US 97 to Tonasket, hung a left on US 20 and headed east until we got to Republic. It was getting late so we rode north to Curlew Lake State Park where we spent the night, stopping at about 8:45pm. Showers were in the offing and we ate one of our freeze dried dinners since we didn’t stop anywhere for food. By the time we finished eating and had our showers it was dark and time for bed.
