Friday

Chatham County Line - We were late getting in this day so we didn't catch but the last two songs, but we liked what we heard. More traditional in style and they perform around a single microphone for vocals. Something I know from experience is the best way to sing in a group of you can.

Aoife O'Donovan - Pronounced "eef-fa", Aoife performed a number of songs and I really liked her style. Leaning less traditional than Sierra Hull for example, but a great voice and song-writing was evident. Again, just a lovely performance. I looked up her music when I got home too.

Keller Williams & The Travelin' McCoury's - Missed this one due to lunch. I was trying to eat up most of my freeze-dried food, so I didn't hear them at all.

Jason Isbell - Looking this far back (two weeks) it's hard to remember each act, but I remember catching the last half of his act and I liked what I heard. I just can't tell you much about it at this point.

Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott - Separate performers most of the time, they get together occasionally to perform and this was one of those times. Consummate musicians, their music was extremely good. Playing banjo and guitar mostly it was interesting to realize that those two instruments were enough. Thinking back to when Chris Thile performed on Thursday when I could hear the lack of supporting parts, I couldn't help but contrast it to these two guys performing a very traditional type of bluegrass absolutely without flaw.
