The next day dawned bright and sunny and we decided to find some other place to have breakfast. Sunday morning however didn't show a lot of places that were open. But we found one on the main drag that ended up being just right. None of us wanted a huge breakfast as that tends to make you drowsy. As you can see, my little one egg breakfast was just right.

Getting on the road we traveled along Kootenay Lake just like I did the first part of the month. Along the way my brother and I talking via bluetooth realized that if you're going to stay in a hotel, why not stay at Ainsworth Hot Springs which is just up the road from Nelson. We rode right by it. Next time. We stopped to take some nice pictures and I nearly slipped off the very steep embankment to the woods below. That grass was slicker than I thought. I'm safer on the bike!

We continued on through Kaslo and on to the fun part! That great road from there to New Denver. I never tire of this section of the road. After another photo op beside Slocan Lake, we continue on to Nakusp, then turning south we rode along Arrow Lake until we crossed it via the Fauquier ferry. You'll notice from that picture after we got off the ferry that three of us ride V-Stroms while Jay rides a cruiser (we pity him, but he's too fun to leave behind). We continue to follow 6 up through to Cherryville and our traditional click to enlarge click to enlarge stop at the Gold Pan Inn. I got a triple decker club sandwich instead of the burger last time. All good stuff!

The rest of the road is still fun, but that come to an end when we get to Vernon, which is a fair-sized city. Last time Bill Motsenbocker and I tried to find Westside Road which was told to be pretty fun. Before leaving on this trip I looked it up so we wouldn't miss it. We still almost did as I was looking at the scenery instead of the exit signs and had to double back a bit to get there. But it was worth it. It started out a bit rural, but as it closed in on Okanagan Lake it got twistier and had some tremendous views.
