Among all the motorcycles parked up there was the oddest thing that I had to take a picture of. A really nice bright yellow goldwing that had this "super bee" sticker on the side, pulling a trailer. On the trailer was some type of car model in the shape of a 55 Chevy Belair wagon. It definitely wasn’t a vehicle, but I never did find out what it was – maybe a storage trailer in the shape of a car? Who knows, but it was pretty cool!
It was so nice we decided to hike a bit of the glacier area. We didn’t intend it, but we hiked all the way to Hidden Lake at the top. We spent three hours hiking that we really didn’t plan on. Still, it was fun and good for us. And it’s not like we pushed ourselves or anything. When I was there with my family abouta month earlier there was enough snow that people were sledding. Now there was nothing. they have a trail that they do not want people to go off of - they don't want the meadows trampled. In any case it was a nice walk to a beautiful alpine lake.
Hiking back down we decided on what to do next and that's when we deviated from the plan. Instead of riding back down the way we had come, we decided to ride down the east end of the road to St. Mary. Of course Grant gave us heck for not stopping and taking more pictures. That's what I meant by what I said earlier about that being a mistake. Oh well, that type of thing happens. The east side of the road was also under construction, but not too bad. We stopped a one over look to check out one of the few actual glaciers left in the park.
