It was really hot by this time, so the four of us stopped in Colville at an espresso stand and got some fruit smoothies and endured instant brain freeze. We had to cool off for about 15 minutes in the air conditioning before we could take more than two sips at a time.

We rolled into Kettle Falls, and turned south on 25 and headed home. The road is nice and lined with farms most of the way. You know how most accidents happen nearest your home at the end of the trip? We nearly had ours just outside of Hunters. There had been signs about the road work for miles, but we saw nothing. Complacency can kill you and while this wouldn't have killed us, it would have hurt. Bill was leading and rounded a corner and ran into a heavy patch of gravel. It was close, but he kept on two wheels. I was behind him, but had enough warning to slow down in time. Lesson learned! The rest of the ride home was uneventful. Total miles for me was 1,541.

Epilog
Another great trip has come and gone. Even before this trip was done we started talking about where we want to go next year. Colorado has evoked some interest. We have some time to figure that out. We had post-trip dinner with all of our wives present and are already looking forward to the next trip.
