I'm very close now to getting the engine in firing position. The welder finished the header pipe beautifully, which I've touched up the heat resistant paint. I have all my cables. The new O-ring chain and sprocket are here. Primary and final sprockets are installed. I have the proper exhaust gasket rings on order. I tried a set off of Ebay, but the measurements were wrong and they didn't have the right size to exchange. Caveat Emptor! Oh well. I ordered the right size from Westside Powersports and they should be here next week. Meanwhile I've been working on the wiring to get it into readiness. If I can get everything assembled correctly, I'll get a new battery for it and really will find out what, if anything I've screwed up. I'm not actually going to connect all the lights and blinkers right away. First order of business will be to get the engine running. I know there are a bunch of little things I'm forgetting, but I'll take care of them as I go along. I think my brother Dave is nearly excited as I am about getting it running.

The exhaust gaskets showed up and they are the correct size, so I've installed the pipe. Next up: get all the cables put in place.
