In keeping with my infrequent updates to my blog, here I am again, two months after the last post. I can't see myself writing just for the sake of writing, so I only enter something that seems interesting to me or when I have something fun planned.

I wrote earlier about my big trip plans for going to Colorado. Plans changed and the trip morphed into a Wyoming destination. It was eventful and you can read about it by clicking on the "Bike Trips" link above.

Horizons Unlimited

I have a number of trips planned for the next month. It's kind of odd because I usually don't bunch things up like this, but sometimes things happen beyond your ability to control. First up is the Canada West Traveller's Meeting of Horizons Unlimited this week. I'd been aware of the site for a while, but never visited. It's made up of people from all over the world who travel by motorcycle. When I say "all over the world" I mean it. You'll find people from every continent connecting through this website for help, tips, traveling partners, you name it, it's there. They have meetings each year in various parts of the world where people gather to exchange ideas, talk about their adventures, etc. There's one every year in Nakusp, British Columbia, Canada which is only 250 miles from my home in Spokane. So I'm headed up there to meet people, hear their stories, and maybe learn something.

The following week, which is Labor Day here in the USA, I'll be heading to Oregon with my brother Dave, my good friend Bill Motsenbocker, and a friend of his, Dan Schneider. Last year Bill, Dave, my brother-in-law Jay, and I rode through part of Oregon and had a great time (see Memorial Day 2012 under Bike Trips page). Bill has an improved route for us this year and I'm looking forward to it. I didn't think it could get much better than last year. Bill says this route is.

Two weeks after that I'll be heading down to Kamiah, Idaho for the annual Fastlane Northwest Rally weekend. I've been before with my V-Strom, but this time my brother and I are taking our 250s on a trailer and riding the offroad sections. My Honda is running and ready to go this year, so I'll be trading fast corners for sending dirt flying behind me.

It's going to be three great weekends each with something different. It'll take me some time, but I'll put a report up on each trip. Keep checking my Bike Trips page for updates.
